How do I dispose of an used laser toner cartridge? Is there a place I can send it to for remanufacturing?

My first laser toner cartridge ran out. Can I throw it in the trash?

I would prefer to recycle it or send it to a company that refills and resells them (remanufacturing). Does anyone have any info on those programs? How do I dispose of an used laser toner cartridge? Is there a place I can send it to for remanufacturing?
You can take it to OfficeMax. We recycle them and give you a $3 credit towards your purchase for each cartridge you return. We take both inkjet and laser cartridges. We will remanufacture the used cartridge and resell it. Staples also has a program similar to the one at OfficeMax.How do I dispose of an used laser toner cartridge? Over 40,000,000 ink jet cartridges are used every year. About 90% could be recycled.

You could donate them to Scope

You can also take it to your local school and they usually have a recycling program for that. The school gets money for recycling it and helps them pay for school trips and other events for the school.
office depot will take them for you and give you a coupon towards your next purchase.
