What is the differnce between toner and a printer cartrige?

or are they both the same? and if different, what do each do?What is the differnce between toner and a printer cartrige?
I believe toner is for copy machines and printer cartriges are for printers. What is the differnce between toner and a printer cartrige?

Toner cartridges are strictly for machines like laser printers, high volume copy machines, anything that uses that big cartridge and drum. a printer cartridge depends on the type of printer you have; if you have a laser printer, you'll get a toner cartridge. if you have an inkjet printer, you'll get an ink cartridge.
Printer cartridges are for inkjet printers and contain ink that is sprayed onto the paper. Toner is used in laser printers and is a powder which is made of small plastic balls with iron in them to make them conductive so they can be electrostatically moved onto the paper then melted in at high temperature to ';fuse'; them into the paper.
Toner cartridges, a.k.a. printer cartrides, are used typically in printers and fax machines, anything that is laser technology.

Toner is the substance the cartrige holds. In higher-end machines like copiers, you typically speak of just toner. The toner is stored inside a plastic tube generally, and this type of machine uses just a much hotter fuser rather than the drum built into the print cartridge and a fuser built into the machine like the lower-end printers use.
