What's the difference between toner and astringent? what do they do actually?

as far as i know, usually we'll use these 3 things to take care of our face. First, cleanser, secondly toner and lastly, moisturizer, right?.. now i'm using astringent instead of toner. but i don't know the difference between both of these. which one is better for my skin, toner or astringent..? what do they do actually for our skin? What's the difference between toner and astringent? what do they do actually?
toner is a more pleasant word than ';astringent'; and they are the same thing. Both are alcohol-based cleansers. Compare the ingredients and you will see. What's the difference between toner and astringent? what do they do actually?
astringents are for oily skin, because they dry it up and close the pores. toners are softer and they're good for all skin types.
astringent- a cosmetic that cleans the skin and constricts the pores.

toner- used to restore firmness to the skin.
toner makes the skin even if u r lighter in 1 place than another ie:: tone-r astringent cleans the skin strips it of all impurities
